My Run-in with the Buddeez Beverage Dispenser
Alright, so I picked up one of those Buddeez beverage dispensers the other day. You know the type, big clear plastic jug with a spigot. We were having a little get-together in the backyard, nothing huge, just family and a couple of neighbors. Figured it’d be easier than folks going in and out of the fridge constantly for drinks.
First thing I did, took it out of the packaging. Seemed simple enough. Big container, lid, spigot already attached. Gave the whole thing a good wash with soap and warm water. Didn’t want any plastic taste in the lemonade, you know? Rinsed it out really well. Seemed sturdy enough for what it is.

Then came the prep. Decided on lemonade, classic choice. Squeezed a bunch of lemons – took longer than I thought, my hands were getting sore. Mixed up the sugar, water, lemon juice in a separate pitcher first, just to get the taste right. Made a big batch, probably close to two gallons.
Pouring it into the Buddeez dispenser was straightforward. The opening at the top is pretty wide, so I didn’t make too much of a mess. Just had to be careful not to slosh it around too much carrying it out to the patio table. The lid snapped on okay, felt reasonably secure.
Putting It To The Test
Set it up on the table outside. Filled some cups with ice nearby. People started using it pretty quickly. Here’s what I noticed:
- The spigot: It worked. You push the little lever, lemonade comes out. It wasn’t super fast, more like a steady trickle. Maybe that’s good, prevents big spills, especially with kids. Nobody complained about it being too slow, anyway.
- Stability: It sat flat on the table. Didn’t feel wobbly, even when it was getting emptier. That was good.
- Leaks? Kept an eye on the spigot connection. Saw a tiny drip maybe once or twice over several hours, but nothing major. Just wiped it with a paper towel. Could’ve been from someone not closing it all the way too, hard to say for sure. Definitely didn’t have a puddle underneath it.
It held a good amount. We refilled it once later in the afternoon with iced tea. Same deal, worked just fine. People seemed to like having it there, easy self-serve.
The Cleanup Operation
After everyone left, brought it inside. Emptying the leftover iced tea was easy. Washing it again was okay. Like I said, the wide mouth helps. Could get my hand and a sponge inside to scrub it down properly. The spigot area is always a bit tricky on these things, just rinsed it through really well with hot water. Let it air dry upside down on the dish rack.
So, yeah. The Buddeez dispenser. It did exactly what I expected it to do. Held the drink, dispensed the drink, didn’t cause a big drama. It’s not fancy, it’s a plastic jug with a tap. But it was practical for the day. Will I use it again? Sure, for the next backyard BBQ or kid’s party. It’s simple and it gets the job done without much fuss. Pretty decent piece of gear for what it costs.
