Summer is hot, and I was craving something cold to drink. So, I decided to make a special drink called “Surfside Beverage.” I didn’t know what it would taste like, but I was ready for an adventure in my kitchen.
First, I gathered my ingredients. I grabbed some blueberries and lemons from my fridge. These were going to be the stars of my drink. I also found some ice cubes in the freezer. I wasn’t sure what else I needed, so I just went with these for starters.

Mixing Things Up
Next, I washed the blueberries and cut the lemons into slices. I squeezed the juice out of the lemons. It was a bit messy, but it smelled really fresh and zesty. I poured the lemon juice into a big pitcher. I added a cup of blueberries to the pitcher, too.
Then, I filled the pitcher with ice cubes. I used a big spoon to stir everything together. The blueberries started to mix with the lemon juice, and the ice made a nice clinking sound. It was like making a potion, and I felt like a kitchen wizard.
Blending It Smooth
I carefully poured the mixture into my blender. I put the lid on tight—very important, or you’ll have a mess everywhere! I pressed the button to blend everything together. The blender whirred, and I could see the blueberries and ice turning into a slushie.
After a minute, it looked smooth and cold. I turned off the blender and poured my creation into a tall glass. It looked really pretty, with a light purple color from the blueberries. I added a straw and a lemon slice to the rim of the glass, just to make it look fancy.
Tasting My Creation
Finally, I took a sip. Wow! It was so refreshing and tasty. The blueberries gave it a sweet flavor, and the lemon made it a bit tangy. It was the perfect drink for a hot day. I sat on my porch and enjoyed my Surfside Beverage, feeling proud of what I had made.

Making this drink was a lot of fun. It was a little bit messy, but totally worth it. I think I’ll try making it again with different fruits next time. Maybe some strawberries or peaches. The possibilities are endless when you’re having fun in the kitchen!
