Okay, here is my sharing of the kitchen cleaning process based on my own experience:
I printed out a kitchen cleaning checklist the other day, and let me tell you, it was a game changer. First, I cleared everything off the counters and started with the dishes. I filled the sink with hot, soapy water and let the dirtiest dishes soak while I wiped down the countertops.

After the dishes were done, I tackled the stovetop. I removed the grates and soaked them in the sink, then I sprayed the stovetop with a cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing it down.
Wipe and Clean
- I wiped down the cabinets, walls.
- I cleaned the microwave inside and out, using a bowl of water and vinegar to steam clean it first. It made all those caked-on food splatters come right off.
- I cleaned and disinfected the sink, and then freshened up the garbage disposal with some lemon peels and ice cubes.
Next, I moved on to the refrigerator. I tossed out any old or expired food, removed all the shelves and drawers, and washed them in the sink. I wiped down the inside of the fridge with a baking soda solution to get rid of any lingering odors.
I also cleaned out the pantry, wiping down the shelves and organizing everything as I put it back in. I made sure to put the oldest items in the front so they’d get used first.
Pay Attention to the Floor
- I swept the floor.
- Mopped, making sure to get into all the corners and under the appliances.
- I also cleaned the floor under the sink and behind the fridge.
Finally, I took out the trash and recycling. With the checklist, I didn’t forget anything, and my kitchen was sparkling clean!
