Okay, so “kitchen in it’s complicated” – let me tell you, it really was. I’ve been wanting to reorganize my kitchen for, like, ever. It was a total disaster zone. I started by just staring at the mess, honestly. Utensils everywhere, pots and pans crammed into cabinets, spices I didn’t even know I had… yeah, it was bad.
First, I pulled everything out. And I mean EVERYTHING. Every single drawer, every cabinet, every shelf – emptied. It looked like a bomb had gone off in my kitchen, but I knew I had to see it all to figure out what I was working with.

Then came the hard part – deciding what to keep. I found, like, three potato mashers. Three! Who needs three potato mashers? I ended up donating a bunch of stuff I never used. It felt good to get rid of the clutter.
- Duplicate utensils? Gone.
- Weird gadgets I bought on a whim? Donated.
- Expired spices? Trashed.
Next, I cleaned everything. I mean, really scrubbed. The drawers, the cabinets, the shelves – everything got a good wipe-down. It’s amazing how much grime builds up in a kitchen.
After that I am planning how to organzie. I bought some drawer dividers, some shelf risers, and some cute little containers for my spices. It made me put similar items together. I put all my baking stuff in one cabinet, all my cooking utensils in one drawer, and all my spices in another.
Then I put it all back. The shelf risers let me stack things without them toppling over. The drawer dividers keep my spatulas from getting tangled up with my whisks. And the spice containers? They’re not just cute, they actually make it easy to find what I’m looking for.
Finally I stood back to have a look and took some pictures to memory it.
The Result?
It’s still a work in progress, a kitchen can always use some improvement. But it’s so much better than it was. I can actually find things now! It’s like a whole new kitchen. It took a whole day, and my back is killing me, but it was totally worth it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go make some cookies in my newly organized kitchen.
