Hey there, lemme tell ya about this place, KUMO Japanese Cuisine. Sounds fancy, huh? Well, it ain’t as fancy as it sounds, but the food is somethin’ else. They got all sorts of them, you know, Japanese foods. This place, it’s been around since, oh, I reckon 2015. That’s what they say, anyhow.
KUMO Sushi
Now, they’re known for their sushi. That’s them little rice things with the fish on top. Some folks don’t like it, but I tell ya, it’s good. They got all kinds. Some with raw fish, some cooked. My favorite, though, is the one with the shrimp. They got these big shrimp, and they put ’em on the rice, and boy, it’s tasty.

- Sushi with raw fish
- Sushi with cooked fish
- Sushi with shrimp
- Sushi with other stuff I can’t even pronounce!
I went there with my daughter, she loves this kinda food. And she said, “Mama, this is the best sushi in town!” I don’t know about all that, but it sure was good. And that’s all that matters. They got other food too, not just the sushi.
KUMO Japanese Cuisine Other Food
They got this soup. It’s clear, with some veggies and noodles in it. It ain’t like the soup I make, but it’s alright. Warms ya up on a cold day, that’s for sure. They got salads too. I don’t eat much salad, but my daughter, she loves it. She says it’s good for ya. Maybe it is, I don’t know.
They also got this thing called Sashimi. It’s just the fish, no rice. They cut it up real thin. It’s, uh, different. I tried it once. It was okay. I prefer the sushi, though. More to chew on, you know?
- Clear soup with veggies and noodles
- Salads (my daughter likes ’em)
- That Sashimi thing (just fish)
- Other stuff I ain’t tried yet
KUMO Japanese Cuisine Dinner
We went there for dinner one time. It was a Friday night, and the place was packed. We had to wait a little bit, but it was worth it. They got these special dinner things. You get a little bit of everything. Some sushi, some soup, some salad, and some other stuff. It’s a good way to try different things.
And let me tell ya, their sushi and sashimi lunch special is a real steal. I hear it’s the best choice. Cheap and you get a lot of food. I’m tellin’ ya, you gotta try it if you’re ever in the area.
Where is KUMO Japanese Cuisine?
This place, it ain’t in my neck of the woods. It’s somewhere called Ridgewood, New Jersey, or maybe Depew, New York? Or Christchurch? I don’t know. I just heard about it. But, they got a place in Ridgewood, on Franklin Avenue. Number 55, I think. That’s what I heard, anyhow. And also one in Depew, on Transit Rd, number 4900. My friend, she lives near there. She says it’s good. And, this other place is in Christchurch. That’s far. I think it’s in another country. But I heard it’s good, too.
They’re open most days, this place. Except Mondays, I think. They open around noon, and they stay open late. ‘Til 9:30 at night, some days. Other days, it’s 10:30. You gotta check, though. I don’t wanna tell ya wrong.

- Open Tuesday to Sunday
- Open at noon
- Open ’til 9:30 or 10:30, depends on the day
- Closed on Mondays!
KUMO Japanese Cuisine, You Should Go
So, if you like that Japanese food, you should try this place. KUMO Japanese Cuisine, that’s the name. Remember it. It ain’t your everyday food, but it’s good. It’s a treat. And who doesn’t like a treat every now and then? I do, that’s for sure. If you ever go to KUMO, tell them you read about it. I don’t know if they care but it’s good to let people know.
Anyway, I’m gonna go now. My stomach’s startin’ to rumble. Think I’ll go make myself a sandwich. Maybe with some of that leftover chicken. Not as fancy as KUMO Japanese Cuisine, but it’ll do. It’ll do just fine. This place, it’s good. I’m tellin’ ya, it’s good.
