Okay, so I tried out this place, Lulu’s Latin Cuisine, and I gotta share the whole experience. It all started when I got this craving for some good Latin food. I’d heard some whispers about this spot, Lulu’s, and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First thing I did was look up the menu online. It’s 2024, who doesn’t do that, right? They had a bunch of stuff, like, a lot. And I’m not even kidding, it was hard to choose! I saw they had these empanadas that people seemed to love, and also something called Camarones Al Ajillo – that’s garlic shrimp for those of us who aren’t fluent in Spanish. Also spotted some sweet plantains, which I’m a sucker for.

So, I head over to Lulu’s. It wasn’t too hard to find, which is always a plus. Walked in, and the place had a nice vibe. I mean, it felt authentic, you know? They opened in 2020, which I found out later, crazy time to open a restaurant, right? But they made it.
Got seated and ordered the empanadas, the garlic shrimp, and the sweet plantains. I was pretty pumped, not gonna lie. I mean, who doesn’t love trying out new food, especially when it’s something you’re really craving?
- Empanadas
- Camarones Al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp)
- Sweet Plantains
Food arrived, and I dug in. Now, here’s where it gets a bit sad. The empanadas, which I was super excited about, were just… okay. Like, they weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either. A bit bland, if I’m being honest. The garlic shrimp was a bit of a letdown too. And the sweet plantains? They were alright, but nothing to write home about.
Paid up and left, feeling a bit meh. It wasn’t a total disaster, but I definitely had higher hopes. I guess not every place can be a hit, right? But it’s cool, I’ll keep exploring. There’s gotta be some hidden gems out there, just waiting to be found. Lulu’s might be great for some, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. No hard feelings, though. Onto the next food adventure!
Conclusion
You win some, you lose some. Lulu’s wasn’t a winner for me, but it’s all good. It’s part of the adventure of trying new places. And who knows, maybe they were just having an off day. Either way, I’m still on the hunt for that perfect Latin spot. The search continues!
