Hey there, y’all! Let’s talk ’bout makin’ some good ol’ pork chops and sauerkraut in that there crock pot. I ain’t no fancy cook, mind you, but I know how to make a tasty dish that’ll fill your belly and warm your soul. We gonna keep it simple, like how my grandma taught me. No fuss, no muss, just good eatin’.

So, first things first, you gotta get yourself some pork chops. Don’t matter too much what kind, but I like the thicker ones, you know, the ones with a bit of bone in ’em. Thick pork chops just taste better, that’s all there is to it. You’ll need about four of ’em, enough to feed a hungry family, or maybe just you if you’re real peckish.

Next up, the sauerkraut. Now, I know some folks ain’t too keen on sauerkraut, but trust me on this one. It gets all soft and tangy in the crock pot, and it pairs just perfect with the pork chops. Get yourself a good-sized jar or bag, enough to cover them chops real good. Don’t be shy with it, the more the merrier, I always say. And if you’re feeling fancy, you can add some sliced onions and apples too. Gives it a little somethin’ extra, you know?

  • Pork Chops – about 4 thick ones
  • Sauerkraut – enough to cover the chops
  • Onion – one big one, sliced up
  • Apple – one or two, sliced up (optional)

Alright, now let’s get to cookin’. First, you gotta grease up that crock pot a little. Just a dab of oil or butter will do. Then, lay them pork chops right in there. Don’t overcrowd ’em, give ’em some space to breathe. After that, dump the sauerkraut all over them chops, make sure they’re nice and covered. If you’re usin’ onions and apples, throw them in too.

Now, here’s the secret, folks. You gotta add a little somethin’ to give it some flavor. I like to use a can of cream of mushroom soup. Yeah, I know, it sounds weird, but it makes the sauce all creamy and delicious. Just dump that whole can right on top. If you ain’t got no cream of mushroom soup, you can use chicken broth or even just some water. Just make sure you add enough liquid so them chops don’t dry out.

Okay, now put the lid on that crock pot and set it to low. You gotta let it cook for a good long while, like eight hours. That’s the beauty of the crock pot, you just set it and forget it. Go about your day, do your chores, and come back to a delicious meal. If you’re in a hurry, you can cook it on high for four hours, but I think it tastes better when you cook it low and slow. Low and slow cooking is always the best.

After eight hours, them pork chops should be fall-apart tender, and the sauerkraut will be all soft and tangy. The whole house will smell amazing, I tell you. Just take them chops out and serve ’em up with a big ol’ spoonful of sauerkraut. You can have it with mashed potatoes, rice, or even just a hunk of bread. It’s a complete meal, folks, all in one pot.

Now, I know some folks like to add other stuff to their pork chops and sauerkraut. Some people add caraway seeds, some add brown sugar, some even add beer. You can experiment and add whatever you like. That’s the fun of cooking, you can make it your own. But for me, I like to keep it simple. Just pork chops, sauerkraut, onions, apples, and a can of cream of mushroom soup. That’s all you need to make a delicious and comforting meal.

And there you have it, folks. Pork chop and sauerkraut crock pot recipes, easy as pie. Even a blind hog can find an acorn, and even I can cook this, so you know it ain’t hard. So go on, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. And your family will thank you for it. It’s a good old-fashioned dish that’ll warm your heart and your belly. And that’s what cooking’s all about, ain’t it?
