Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make one of these mason jar beverage dispensers for a while now. I finally got around to it, and let me tell you, it was way easier than I thought. Here’s how I did it:
Getting Started
First, I gathered all my materials. I needed a large mason jar, of course, and I found one at a local craft store. I also picked up a spigot, some strong adhesive, and a drill with a glass-drilling bit. I already had the drill, so that saved me some money.

Making the Hole
This was the part I was most nervous about. I carefully marked where I wanted the spigot to go on the jar, about an inch or two from the bottom. Then, I put on some safety glasses (very important!) and started drilling. I went slow and steady, applying gentle pressure and using plenty of water to keep the bit cool. It took a little while, but I finally got a clean hole through the glass.
Attaching the Spigot
Once the hole was drilled, I thoroughly cleaned and dried the area around it. I carefully applied the adhesive to the spigot according to the instructions on the tube. Next, I carefully inserted the spigot into the hole, making sure it was snug and secure. I held it in place for a few minutes, as per the glue’s instructions, and then let it sit for a good 24 hours to fully cure. I’m not taking any chances with leaks!
Testing It Out
After the adhesive was completely set, it was time for the moment of truth. I filled the jar with some water to test it out. And guess what? No leaks! The spigot worked perfectly. I was so happy with how it turned out.
Filling it Up
Now for the fun part! I emptied the test water and filled my new dispenser with some homemade lemonade. It looked so great on my kitchen counter. Later, I made some iced tea, and it worked just as well. I’ve been using it every day since. I’ve even been thinking about making a few more for parties – one for lemonade, one for iced tea, maybe one for juice. They just look so cool and are so handy. It holds about two and a half gallons of liquid which is great for when I have guests over. They can easily get drinks for themselves and refill when needed.
So, yeah, that’s how I made my mason jar beverage dispenser. It was a fun and easy project, and now I have a cool and practical new addition to my kitchen. If you’re thinking about making one, go for it! Just remember to be careful when drilling the glass, and use a good quality adhesive. You won’t regret it.
