Okay, so, today I decided to tackle something I’ve been seeing pop up a lot lately – that “meat in Hawaiian cuisine” crossword clue. I mean, I love crosswords, and I’ve dabbled in Hawaiian food, but this one had me stumped for a bit.
First, I tried to think of all the Hawaiian dishes I could remember. You know, the usual suspects. I was racking my brain, picturing those delicious, colorful plates, but nothing was clicking with only 4 letters.
- Searching Online: I hit up the internet, as one does. I typed in “meat in Hawaiian cuisine crossword” and, man, the results were all over the place! There were tons of crossword solver sites with different answers. Some said 30, others claimed 40, like, make up your mind, internet!
- Narrowing it Down: I started to see a pattern, though. Most of these sites were pointing towards the same few answers. That’s when I realized, this wasn’t about knowing every single Hawaiian dish, but about knowing the most common ones used in crosswords.
- Finding the Clue: I saw that this clue often popped up in the LA Times crossword, especially around April 5th, 2024. The clue is “Meat in Hawaiian cuisine”. I saw that the answer had 4 letters, so I looked back at all the four-letter words that might be related.
- The “Aha!” Moment: And then it hit me. The answer they were all hinting at was right there. It’s a classic, something you see at every luau.
After all that digging, and all that delicious food imagery, I finally got it. I felt like a crossword genius for a second.
I had to chuckle to myself, it’s one thing to know something, but it’s another to connect it to a crossword clue. It’s like your brain has to work in this whole different way. And when it finally clicks, man, it’s satisfying.
The most challenging part was figuring out that the answer is the 4 letters words “P” “O” “R” “K”.
So yeah, that’s my little crossword adventure for today. It was a fun little mental workout, and hey, now I’m craving some Hawaiian food. Maybe I’ll have to whip some up this weekend. Anyone have any good recipes?
