Today I’m gonna talk about how I figured out a beverage brand called “Morning Sun”. It all started when I was messing around with a New York Times crossword puzzle a few days ago. You know how it is, just killing time, challenging the brain a bit.
So, I got stuck on this clue: “Beverage brand whose name translates to ‘morning sun’.” I scratched my head for a while, and nothing came to mind. I tried a few guesses, but none of them fit. This one really got me thinking.

- I started looking around online, just typing stuff into search engines like “morning sun drink” or “beverage brand morning sun.” I found some articles and websites talking about crossword puzzles, and some of them mentioned this clue. That’s when I saw the hint that the answer has five letters.
- Then, I stumbled upon a few crossword forums and websites where people were discussing this exact clue. Some folks were saying they saw it in the New York Times crossword. That was a big clue.
- After digging deeper, I saw a post that straight-up gave the answer: “ASAHI”. It clicked immediately. I even saw someone mention that this clue appeared in the NYT Crossword on May 3rd. Bingo!
Realization
Once I saw “ASAHI”, it made sense. I’ve heard of that brand before. It’s a Japanese beer, right? I didn’t know its name meant “morning sun” in Japanese, though. That’s a cool little fact to learn.
So, there you have it. That’s how I cracked the code of the “morning sun” beverage brand crossword clue. It was a fun little journey, and I learned something new. Now, every time I see an Asahi beer, I’ll think of that morning sun.
