Okay, so this morning, I started my day like I always do, figuring out what to drink. Usually, I just grab a coffee, but today, I felt like something different. I remembered seeing this phrase “morning sun” somewhere, maybe it was on a crossword puzzle or something, I dunno.
Anyway, it got me thinking. I wanted to make a drink that felt like a “morning sun”. You know, bright, refreshing, something that would wake me up but not be too heavy. I started rummaging through my fridge. I found some oranges, a lemon, and a bit of ginger. Perfect! I figured I could make a juice with those.

Making the “Morning Sun”
- First, I juiced two oranges. I don’t have a fancy juicer, just one of those hand-held ones, so it took a bit of elbow grease.
- Then, I squeezed in the juice of half a lemon.
- Next, I grated a small piece of ginger, about a teaspoon, and added that to the mix. Ginger can be pretty strong, so I didn’t want to overdo it.
- I poured everything into a glass and stirred it up. I decided it might be a little too watery, so I added a bit of sparkling water.
- I added a couple of ice cubes and a slice of orange for garnish.
The result? It was pretty good! It tasted tangy, a little sweet, and the ginger gave it a nice kick. It definitely felt like a “morning sun” in a glass. I’m not sure if I’ll make it every day, but it was a fun experiment. Maybe next time I’ll try adding some other fruits, like pineapple or mango, make it a real sunburst. Also, I thought that I can try to make it as a cocktail. I think I will try it someday.
It’s funny how a simple phrase can spark an idea. I guess that’s what I love about mornings – the possibility of trying something new. And if the new thing will be not good enough, I can always make a cup of coffee.
