Okay, so I’ve been seeing “fall gluten-free desserts” all over my Pinterest lately, and you know I gotta try everything at least once, right? So, I decided to dive in and see what all the fuss was about. My mission? Find something yummy, fall-ish, and gluten-free. No small feat, my friends.
The Hunt Begins
First, I spent a solid hour just scrolling through recipes. Pumpkin this, apple that…so many options! I finally narrowed it down to a few contenders: pumpkin bars, apple crisp, and some kind of spiced cookie. I wanted something that felt like fall, you know? Warm spices, maybe some fruit…

Gathering the Goods
Next up, grocery shopping. I had to hit up a couple of different stores to find all the gluten-free stuff. It’s getting easier, but sometimes you still gotta hunt for that specific gluten-free flour blend or whatever. I ended up grabbing a bunch of ingredients – almond flour, coconut flour, pumpkin puree, apples, cinnamon, nutmeg…the whole nine yards. My kitchen smelled amazing just from unpacking the bags!
The Experiment (aka Baking Time!)
- Attempt #1: Pumpkin Bars. I found this recipe that looked promising. I carefully measured everything out, following the directions to a T. My mixer and I mixed them together. I poured the batter into a pan and tossed it in the oven. The result? Well, let’s just say they were…edible. A little too dense, and the flavor was kinda “meh.” Back to the drawing board.
- Attempt #2: Apple Crisp. This one seemed simpler. I peeled and chopped a mountain of * I mixed up the gluten-free topping, with lots of oats, butter(dairy free butter to be exact, to be safe!), and brown sugar. After layering, I put it in the owen, crossed my fingers. It smelled amazing while it was baking. And…success! It was actually really good! The apples were soft and sweet, and the topping was crispy and buttery. Definitely a winner.
- Attempt #3: Spice Cookies. To round it out, I am trying some kind of spiced cookies. After looking and looking, I found one I felt confident with. I mixed and stirred the dough. Rolled them out and cut out different shapes. Baked them and bam! They turned out pretty well! A little crumbly, but the flavor was on point – warm, spicy, and perfect for a chilly day.
The Verdict
So, after a full day of baking adventures, I can officially say that gluten-free fall desserts are totally doable! The apple crisp was my personal favorite, but the spice cookies were a close second. It just goes to show that you can still enjoy all the cozy flavors of fall, even if you’re avoiding gluten. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go have another apple crisp…
