Okay, so I saw this recipe floating around for “No Peek Beef Tips” and I was like, “No peek? Seriously? How am I supposed to resist?” But, I decided to give it a shot, mostly because I’m all about that easy crock pot life.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my crock pot – you know, the trusty old slow cooker that’s seen me through countless chili nights and pot roasts. Then, I went to the store, because the meat is the star of the dish.

I bought about 2 pounds of beef stew meat. I chose stew meat that’s because it’s already cut into nice, bite-sized pieces, I’m not much for extra work.
The Prep (Super Easy)
This is where it gets ridiculously simple. I literally just dumped everything into the crock pot. No browning the meat, no sautéing onions – nothing.
- I threw in the beef.
- Then, I opened a can of cream of mushroom soup and plopped that in.
- Next, I added a packet of onion soup mix – you know, the dry stuff.
- I poured in a can of beef broth. Just enough to give it some extra liquid.
- Finally I added a packet of brown gravy mix .
I gave it a quick stir with a big spoon, just to make sure everything was kinda mixed together. It wasn’t pretty, but that’s the beauty of it – no fuss!
The “No Peek” Part
This is the hardest part, seriously. I put the lid on the crock pot, set it to low, and walked away. The recipe said “no peeking,” and I was determined to follow the rules (for once). I set the timer for 6 hours.
The waiting was brutal. My kitchen started smelling amazing after about an hour, and it just kept getting better. I kept myself busy with laundry, cleaning, and, okay, maybe a little Netflix. Anything to distract me from the delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen.
The Big Reveal
When the timer finally buzzed, I practically ran to the kitchen. I took a deep breath and lifted the lid… and wow. The beef was incredibly tender, falling apart with just a touch of a fork. The gravy was thick and rich, and the whole thing just looked (and smelled) incredible.
Serving It Up
I cooked some egg noodles separately, because, in my opinion, beef tips and noodles are a match made in heaven. I ladled the beef tips and gravy over the noodles, and that was it. Dinner was served.

Honestly, it was one of the easiest and most satisfying meals I’ve made in a long time. The “no peek” thing definitely works – the beef was super tender and flavorful. I’ll definitely be making this again, maybe even next week! It’s the perfect comfort food, and the fact that it’s so low-effort makes it even better.
