Today, I wanna talk about this place called Olivo Mediterranean Cuisine. I’ve been meaning to try it out for a while, so I finally decided to swing by and see what the hype is all about.
First off, I did a little digging to find out more about this spot. It’s located over at 7815 W Sunrise Blvd in Plantation, FL. Turns out, it’s a family-run joint, which I always appreciate. They’re known for their Palestinian and Mediterranean dishes, and they’ve got a pretty good rep for being friendly and making you feel at home.

So, I went in. The vibe was relaxed, just like I read. They have this menu full of stuff like tagine, moussaka, falafel, you know, the classic Mediterranean stuff. It’s a locally owned place, so you can tell they put care into the food.
The Food
- Moussaka: This was pretty good. It had all the right layers and was seasoned just right.
- Falafel: These were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I’ve had my fair share of falafel, and these were up there.
- Greek Salad: Fresh, crisp, and the dressing was on point. Simple, but sometimes that’s all you need.
I gotta say, the food was fresh and tasty. You can find all sorts of Mediterranean goodies on the menu. And you know what’s kinda interesting? Even pasta and pizza are considered part of Mediterranean food. I always thought those were just Italian, but I guess it makes sense since Italy is right there on the Mediterranean Sea. They say Mediterranean food is basically anything eaten by folks living along the sea, from Spain to Morocco, Italy, Greece, and all those places.
The service was solid, too. The folks working there were attentive without being overbearing, you know? I looked it up later, and they’re rated 4.7 based on 70 reviews. Seem they are popular.
Anyway, I wanted to share my little food adventure at Olivo Mediterranean Cuisine. It’s a nice little spot if you’re in the Plantation area and craving some Mediterranean flavors. The food’s good, the people are nice, and it’s got that local, family-run feel. That’s all for today, folks. Stay tuned for more food diaries!
