So, I’ve been meaning to tell you guys about this little adventure I had the other day. I decided to hit up this place called Rock Japanese Cuisine in San Francisco. I’d heard some good things, and who doesn’t love some good sushi, right?
First off, I gotta say, finding the place was a bit of a mission. It’s tucked away on 614 Pine St. That address was very important for me to find it. But once I got there, it had this cozy, kinda traditional vibe that I really liked.
I started looking at the menu. They’ve got all the usual suspects – sushi, sashimi, tempura, you name it. I was feeling a bit peckish, so I decided to go all out. I ordered some of those grilled green mussels with their special sauce that I read about online – they were pretty good, I have to admit. They were very good, very well-grilled with special sauce on them, as they introduced.
- Green mussels: The mussels were the bomb. That sauce? Chef’s kiss.
- Chicken wings: They were alright, they got 4 pieces of it. I guess I am not a chicken wings guy. But the green mussels were the highlight of this meal.
- Egg rolls: I also got some egg rolls with the clear noodles and veggies.
The service was pretty chill. Nothing fancy, but the staff were friendly enough. I saw a bunch of people ordering takeout, so it’s definitely a popular spot for that. The egg rolls tasted not bad, it includes noodles, vegetables and eggs, that’s what I want.
All in all, it was a solid meal. I wouldn’t say it blew my mind or anything, but if you’re in the area and craving some Japanese food, Rock Japanese Cuisine is worth checking out. Oh, and they do reservations, which is always a plus in my book.
So yeah, that’s my little food adventure. Have any of you guys been to Rock? Or do you have any other sushi spots in SF that I should try? Let me know!
