Well, let me tell ya about this place, Royal Indian Cuisine, down on Fillmore Street in San Francisco. I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it. It’s some kinda fancy eatin’ place, ya know? Not like my ol’ cookin’, that’s for sure.

This here Royal Indian Cuisine, they got all sorts of food. Stuff I can’t even pronounce, but it sure smells good. They say it’s “Himalayan” and “Northern Indian” food. Sounds foreign, but my belly don’t care where it comes from as long as it’s tasty.
They got this place at 1740 Fillmore Street. Easy to find, they say. I ain’t too good with findin’ places in the city, all them streets look the same to me. But if you can find it, you’re in for a treat, I hear. They open pretty much all day, from mornin’ till night, but they take a little break in the afternoon, I think. Good for them, workin’ hard all day is tiring.
I saw some pictures of the food, all colorful and pretty. They got this stuff called “Dinner Specials” and “Lunch Specials”. Sounds like a good deal to me. I like a good deal, especially when it comes to food. Feedin’ a family ain’t cheap, let me tell ya.
- They got lamb dishes, chicken dishes, all sorts of stuff.
- And the smells! Oh, the smells! Spicy and sweet, makes my mouth water just thinkin’ about it.
- I heard they even deliver, like bringin’ the food right to your door. Now that’s somethin’ fancy. Back in my day, you had to walk miles just to get a loaf of bread.
Folks are sayin’ this place is real good. “Authentic” they call it. Means it’s the real deal, not some made-up stuff. I like that. I ain’t got no time for fake food. I want somethin’ that sticks to your ribs and fills you up good.
They got all these folks writin’ reviews about it, sayin’ how good the food is. And they got pictures too, so you can see what you’re gettin’ before you even go there. That’s smart, I guess. I ain’t used to all this newfangled technology, but I can see how it’d be helpful. They even got somethin’ called “Tripadvisor” sayin’ it’s good for kids. Well, that’s a plus, ain’t it? Nothin’ worse than a hungry, cranky kid.

This Fillmore Street, it sounds like a fancy place. I heard tell that’s where all them famous bands started playin’ back in the day. The Grateful Dead and such. I don’t know nothin’ about that music, but I heard it was loud. Maybe after you get your belly full at Royal Indian Cuisine, you can go listen to some music. Or maybe just go home and take a nap. That’s what I’d do.
And if you don’t feel like goin’ out, you can order online, they say. Uber Eats or somethin’. They bring the food right to ya. Imagine that! Back in my day, you had to grow your own food, or go huntin’ for it. Now they just bring it to your door. Times sure have changed.
So, if you’re ever in San Francisco and you’re lookin’ for some good eatin’, you might wanna try this Royal Indian Cuisine place. It sounds like a real treat. Just remember, it’s at 1740 Fillmore Street. And if you get lost, just ask somebody. Folks in the city are usually pretty helpful, even to an ol’ country gal like me.
I tell ya, this place sounds like a real slice of heaven. Good food, good smells, and they even bring it to your door. What more could a person want? Maybe a big ol’ glass of sweet tea to go with it, but that’s just me.
Now, I ain’t never been to India, or the Himalayas for that matter, but if this food is anythin’ to go by, it must be a beautiful place. Full of spices and flavors and good people. Just like back home, I reckon.

So go on, give it a try. You might just find your new favorite place to eat. And if you see me there, don’t be shy, say hello. I’m always up for a good chat and a good meal.
