Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little experiments. Today, I messed around with making a Shamrock Beverage. Yeah, you heard that right – that green drink everyone goes crazy for around St. Patrick’s Day. So, let me tell you how it went down.
First off, I gathered my ingredients. I mean, I thought I had everything, but then I realized I was short on a couple of things. But hey, that’s how it goes, right?

- Vanilla ice cream – the good stuff, none of that cheap stuff
- Milk – I used whole milk because why not go all out?
- Peppermint extract – this is the key, guys
- Green food coloring – gotta get that signature green color
- Whipped cream – for that fancy topping, you know
- A cherry on top – optional, but it makes it look cool
So, I started by scooping a decent amount of ice cream into my blender. I didn’t really measure, just eyeballed it. Then I poured in some milk, not too much, just enough to get things moving. The tricky part was the peppermint extract. You don’t want to overdo it, or it’ll taste like toothpaste. I added just a little bit, like a few drops.
Next up, the food coloring. I squirted a few drops in there, and watched the whole thing turn this awesome shade of green. Honestly, it looked pretty cool already. I flipped on the blender and let it do its thing until everything was all smooth and mixed up.
After blending, I grabbed a glass and poured the mixture in. It looked thick and creamy, just like the ones you get at the fast-food places. Then I topped it off with a good amount of whipped cream and stuck a cherry on top, just for that extra flair.
I took a sip, and man, it was pretty darn close to the real thing! It was minty, creamy, and that green color just made it more fun to drink. I ended up making a few more for my roommates, and they loved it too. It was a hit!
So, yeah, that was my little adventure making a Shamrock Beverage. It wasn’t too hard, and it was definitely worth the effort. If you’re feeling a bit festive or just want a tasty treat, give it a shot. It’s a fun little project, and you get a delicious drink out of it. Cheers!
