Okay, so I’ve been craving some good Thai food lately. You know, the kind that really hits the spot and leaves you feeling all warm and satisfied. So, I decided to check out this place called Simi Thai Cuisine in Simi Valley.

First, I looked up their address online. Found it easily enough – 2355 Tapo St #15. Then I browsed through their menu online to get an idea of what they offered. They had all the usual suspects, like Pad Thai and various curries, but I also noticed some interesting seafood dishes. I saw a dish that caught my eye, a Thai style hot and sour coconut soup mixed with king crab, Swai fish, New Zealand mussel, scallop, jumbo shrimp, and squid. Sounds pretty good, right?

I called them up to make a reservation. I figured it’s always better to be safe than sorry, especially on a weekend night. The person on the phone was friendly enough, and they had a table available, so I booked it.

When I got there, the place was pretty busy. But I was seated right away. I decided to take a look at the menu in person, just to see if anything else jumped out at me. But I wanted to try the hot and sour soup.

I decided to order the soup. I mean, how could I resist? Also ordered some stir-fried mixed veggies with brown sauce and pan-fried noodles with chicken and egg. When the food arrived, it looked and smelled amazing. The veggies were cooked just right, and that sauce was delicious. The noodles were tasty, too. The chicken was tender. The soup was so good! The flavors were perfectly balanced, just like authentic Thai food should be – a good mix of salty, sweet, spicy, sour, and creamy.

All in all, I’d say my visit to Simi Thai Cuisine was a success. The food was great, the service was decent, and the prices were reasonable. If you’re in Simi Valley and looking for some good Thai food, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try. It’s not the fanciest place, but the food speaks for itself.

Highlights

  • Good balance of flavors in the Thai style hot and sour coconut soup
  • Stir-fried mixed veggies were fresh and tasty
