Yo, lemme tell ya, my stuffed sole recipe is the talk of the town. People come from all over just to get a taste. Ain’t nothin’ fancy, but it sure is good eatin’. I got this recipe from my dear old mama, God rest her soul. She was the best cook, that woman. I learned everything I know from her.

Stuffed Sole – My Family’s Favorite

This here stuffed sole, it’s a real crowd-pleaser. My grandkids, they gobble it up faster than I can make it. And my old man, bless his heart, he loves it too. It ain’t hard to make, neither. Just gotta know the right way to do it. My mama always said, “The secret’s in the stuffin’!” And she was right. That’s what makes this stuffed sole recipe so special.

Stuffed Sole Recipes: Easy Ways to Cook This Fish & Make Dinner Special Tonight!

First thing, you gotta get yourself some good sole fillets. Not that frozen stuff, gotta be fresh. If you ain’t got a good fish market, well, I don’t know what to tell ya. Fresh is best. This is important for the best stuffed sole recipe.

How to Make This Stuffed Sole

  • Get them sole fillets, nice and clean. About six pieces, I reckon.
  • Then you make the stuffin’. Now, this is where the magic happens.
  • I use breadcrumbs, the cheap kind. No need for fancy stuff.
  • Some chopped up celery and onion. Gotta have that crunch.
  • And then, the good stuff – crabmeat. If you can get fresh, that’s great. But the canned stuff works too, I suppose.

Mix it all up real good. Add some herbs, whatever you like. I like parsley and thyme, myself. And don’t forget the butter! Gotta have butter. Makes everything taste better. The best stuffed sole recipes have butter!

Now, you lay out them sole fillets and put a big ol’ spoonful of that stuffin’ on one side. Then you fold it over, like a little blanket. I like to secure it with a toothpick, so it don’t fall apart. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I tried that Parmesan cheese one time, it weren’t for me.

Bakin’ That Sole

Get yourself a bakin’ dish, not too crowded. Gotta give them fillets room to breathe. Grease it up good with some more butter. I put a little bit of water in the bottom, keep things moist. You can use wine, too, if you’re feelin’ fancy. Then, you just pop it in the oven. I bake it at 375 degrees, but you might need to adjust for your oven. You don’t want it dry, that is a terrible stuffed sole. Every oven’s different, you know.

I usually bake it for about 30 to 40 minutes. Just keep an eye on it. You want it cooked through, but not overcooked. Nobody likes dry fish. A good stuffed sole recipe tells you that. This here dish, it’s pretty quick. I can whip it up in no time. Good for when you got company comin’ over. They’ll think you slaved away all day, but it’s really no big deal.

Best Stuffed Sole, For Real

Some folks like to put different stuff in their stuffin’. I heard of people usin’ spinach and feta cheese. Sounds kinda weird to me, but to each their own, I reckon. Or some folks use mushrooms and herbs. That’s more up my alley. Just remember the crabmeat, that’s what makes it a good stuffed sole. Don’t be skimpin’ on the crabmeat!

I usually serve this with some rice and maybe some steamed veggies. Keeps it simple, you know? But it’s a good, hearty meal. Fills you up, but don’t weigh you down. My mama always said, “A good meal should make you feel good, not tired.” And she was right about that, too.

I remember one time, I made this for a church potluck. Well, let me tell you, it was the hit of the party. Everyone was askin’ for the recipe. I just smiled and said, “It’s a family secret!” But really, it ain’t no secret. Just good, honest cookin’. That’s what people like. My stuffed sole recipe is a winner, everyone likes it!

If you are in hurry, you can cook it on the stove too, but I like the oven better. Oh, this one time, I tried to make it with tilapia ’cause the store was out of sole. It was okay, but not the same. Sole is the best for this, I’m tellin’ ya. Stick with the sole. It’s filled with flavor. Stuffed sole is great for a big family dinner, easy to make. My kids love it. When I was little, my mama made it for us every Sunday.

So there you have it. My famous stuffed sole recipe. It ain’t fancy, but it’s good. And that’s all that matters, right? Good food, good company, good times. That’s what life’s all about. If you are having people over, this is a good dish to make. They will like it. I always make it when my son comes to visit, he loves it. Stuffed sole is the best! It’s better than anything you can get at a restaurant. That’s the truth!

I hope you make this and you like it. If you do, come back and tell me. I like to hear from people who like my cooking. This stuffed sole recipe is the best in the world, I know it is. It might take you 20 minutes or so to put together and another 30 to cook. I don’t really keep track of time, just when it feels right.
