Okay, so I made this beef tips and noodles dish in my crock-pot the other day, and it turned out pretty darn good. I thought I’d share how I did it.
First off, I grabbed about 2 pounds of beef stew meat. Sirloin tips would work too, but stew meat was what I had on hand. I also chopped up a medium onion and minced three cloves of garlic. You can adjust the garlic to your liking, of course.

Then, I got my crock-pot out and put the beef in. I threw the chopped onion and minced garlic in there too. Next, I poured in 2 cups of beef broth. To add some flavor, I also added 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce. Oh, and I almost forgot, I mixed in a tablespoon of tomato paste as well.
- 2 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin tips
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
I gave everything a good stir to make sure it was all combined. Then, I put the lid on and set the crock-pot to low. I let it cook low and slow for about 6-8 hours. The longer you cook it, the more tender the beef will be. I’ve heard you can use the high setting for a few hours at first, but I prefer the low and slow method. Some people might say it is the best way to cook in a crock-pot.
After the beef was cooked and super tender, I cooked up some egg noodles separately according to the package directions. Once the noodles were done, I drained them and added them to the crock-pot with the beef and sauce.
I gently mixed the noodles in with the beef and sauce, making sure everything was nicely coated. I let it all sit for a few more minutes just to let the flavors meld together.
Finally, I served up the beef tips and noodles. It was a really hearty and comforting meal, perfect for a chilly evening. My family loved it, and there were hardly any leftovers!
Tips and Tricks
If you want to thicken the sauce a bit more, you can make a cornstarch slurry. Just mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a couple of tablespoons of cold water, then stir it into the crock-pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Also, feel free to add other veggies like carrots or mushrooms. Just toss them in with the beef at the beginning of the cooking time.
That’s about it! It’s a pretty simple recipe, but it’s definitely a crowd-pleaser. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out!
