Okay, so I saw this trend going around – Cheez-It casserole. I love Cheez-Its, and I love casseroles, so I figured, why not? I’m no chef, but this seemed pretty straightforward, even for a cooking newbie like me.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my stuff. Obviously, I needed a big box of Cheez-Its. Like, the family-size one. I also grabbed some cooked chicken – I just used a rotisserie chicken from the store to make things easy. Then, I got a can of cream of chicken soup, some milk, shredded cheddar cheese (because, more cheese!), and some frozen mixed veggies.

Putting It All Together
I started by preheating my oven to 350 degrees. While that was warming up, I crushed the Cheez-Its. I didn’t want them totally pulverized, just kinda broken up into smaller pieces. I put about half of them into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
Next, I mixed the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk, and mixed veggies in a bowl. It looked a little… beige. But I trusted the process! I poured this mixture over the Cheez-Its in the baking dish.
Then, I sprinkled the shredded cheddar cheese all over the top. And finally, I topped it off with the rest of the crushed Cheez-Its. Gotta have that crunch!
Baking and Tasting
I popped the dish into the oven and baked it for about 25 minutes. I kept an eye on it to make sure the Cheez-Its on top didn’t burn. When the cheese was all melty and bubbly, and the top was golden brown, I took it out.
I let it cool for a few minutes (this was the hardest part!). Then, I dug in. Honestly? It was pretty good! The Cheez-Its added a nice salty, cheesy crunch, and the inside was creamy and comforting.
It’s not gourmet, but it’s a fun, easy meal. My family is very happy.
Would I make it again? Probably! It’s a super simple way to use up leftover chicken, and who doesn’t love Cheez-Its?
