Well, howdy there! Lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout them fall drinks, the ones without no liquor in ’em. You know, for when you wanna feel fancy but keep a clear head. We call ’em fall beverages non alcoholic, sounds real highfalutin, don’t it?
First off, you gotta have somethin’ with apples. Fall time is apple time, ain’t it? I seen them fancy folks makin’ somethin’ called “Apple Ginger Fizz.” Sounds complicated, but it ain’t. You just get some apple juice, yeah, the good kind, not that watered-down stuff. Then you smash up some ginger – not too much, or it’ll burn your throat – and mix it all together. Add a little fizzy water, like that bubbly stuff they sell in bottles, and you got yourself a fancy drink. Kids love it, and so do us old folks, ‘specially when the weather starts gettin’ nippy. Heck, sometimes I just chunk some apples and cinnamon sticks in a pot with water and let it simmer all day. Makes the whole house smell good and it warms you right up.

Then there’s them pumpkin drinks. Now, I ain’t talkin’ ’bout them pumpkin spice lattes from that fancy coffee shop. Too much sugar, I say. I like to make my own pumpkin somethin’-or-other. You take a can of pumpkin – the pure stuff, not that pie fillin’ – and mix it with some milk, a little bit of maple syrup, and a pinch of them spices, you know, cinnamon, nutmeg, that kinda stuff. Warm it up on the stove, and it’s like drinkin’ a warm hug. You can even add a dollop of whipped cream on top if you’re feelin’ extra fancy. My grandkids call it a “pumpkin smoothie,” but I just call it good. And if you’re feelin’ real adventurous, you can add a little bit of coffee to it. Not too much, just enough to give it a little kick.
- Apple Cider: Warm it up, add some cinnamon sticks, maybe a slice of orange. Simple and good.
- Pumpkin Spice Milk: Like I said, pumpkin, milk, spices. Easy peasy.
- Cranberry Spritzer: Cranberry juice, fizzy water, a squeeze of lime. Tart and refreshing.
- Hot Chocolate: Can’t go wrong with hot chocolate, ‘specially on a cold night. Add some marshmallows for extra fun.
Another thing I like is them cranberry drinks. You know, them little red berries? They’re kinda sour on their own, but you mix ’em with a little somethin’ sweet, and they’re mighty tasty. I just buy the cranberry juice from the store, the kind without all that extra sugar. Then I mix it with some fizzy water and a little bit of lime juice. Makes a nice, sparkly drink that ain’t too sweet. Sometimes I add a few cranberries to the bottom of the glass, just to make it look pretty. It’s good for ya too, I reckon. Keeps them sicknesses away, or so they say.
And let’s not forget good ol’ hot chocolate. Now, that’s a drink for any time of year, but it’s extra special in the fall. You can buy them packets of hot chocolate mix, but I like to make my own. It’s just milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat it up on the stove, stir it real good, and you got yourself a cup of comfort. I always add a few marshmallows on top, ’cause why not? It makes it feel like a special treat. And if you’re feelin’ real fancy, you can add a little bit of peppermint extract. Makes it taste like Christmas, even though it ain’t quite there yet.
So, there you have it. A few ideas for them fall beverages non alcoholic. Nothin’ fancy, just good, honest drinks that’ll warm you up and make you feel good. You don’t need no fancy ingredients or no special equipment. Just some simple stuff and a little bit of know-how. And the best part is, you can share ’em with everyone, young and old. So go on, try ’em out. You won’t be disappointed. And remember, don’t go puttin’ no liquor in ’em, unless you want to get a whole different kind of warm feeling, which is alright too, just not what we’re talkin’ ’bout here. We’re keepin’ it clean, you hear?
