Alright, so you wanna make your blue motorcycle shine like new, huh? It ain’t rocket science, I tell ya. Just gotta get the right stuff and put in a little elbow grease. Let me tell you what you need, the way I see it.

Once it’s all clean and dry, you can start with the polish. Now, there’s all kinds of polishes out there. Some for chrome, some for aluminum, some for paint. You gotta figure out what you need for your bike. If you got chrome, that S100 polishing soap they talk about is good stuff, I hear. Easy to use, too. Just rub it on, rub it off. That’s what my grandson told me.
For aluminum, like on your engine, you might need somethin’ stronger. That Mothers Mag Aluminum Polish, folks seem to like it. But be careful, you don’t wanna scratch nothin’. And if you are taking apart your engine you better know what you are doing, otherwise don’t even think about it.
If your paint is lookin’ dull, you’ll need a good paint polish. There’s all kinds of them too, different colors and finishes and all that. I ain’t no expert on that, but my neighbor he paints his own motorcycle. He says you gotta prep the surface real good, clean it and sand it, so the paint sticks.
Now, about that paint. If you got scratches or chips, you might need to touch them up. You can get touch-up paint at most auto parts stores. Just make sure you get the right color, or your bike will look like a patchwork quilt. And if you’re feeling real ambitious, you can repaint the whole thing. But that’s a whole ‘nother story. That’s a lot of work, I’m telling ya.
Anyways, once you got your polish, you need somethin’ to apply it with. Some folks use cloths, some use those buffer things. I like to use an old t-shirt, myself. Soft and won’t scratch nothin’. Just rub that polish on in circles, not too hard, and then buff it off with a clean cloth. You’ll see it start to shine.
And don’t forget the details! Polish up them chrome pipes, them wheels, everything. The more you polish, the better it’ll look. It’s all about patience. You can’t rush a good shine. Take your time, do it right, and your blue motorcycle will be the prettiest one on the block.
And one last thing, when you’re all done, step back and admire your work. You earned it. Now go for a ride and show off that shiny blue motorcycle!
