Okay, so today I wanted to try something different in the kitchen. I’ve had this Instant Pot for a while and mostly used it for stews and the usual stuff. But I was feeling adventurous and thought, “Why not try some seafood?” I mean, I love seafood, but cooking it the traditional way can be a bit of a hassle sometimes.
So, I started browsing around for some ideas. I found out that there are tons of seafood recipes you can make with an Instant Pot. Seriously, it was kind of a surprise! Shrimp, salmon, you name it. I decided to go with a simple shrimp dish to start, just to keep things easy. I grabbed some frozen shrimp from the freezer – yeah, I know, fresh is better, but frozen works in a pinch.

Getting Started
First, I thawed the shrimp. While that was happening, I chopped up some garlic and onions – the usual suspects for a good flavor base. I also grabbed some spices from the cupboard – paprika, a bit of cayenne for a kick, and some good old salt and pepper.
Cooking Process
Once the shrimp was ready, I dumped everything into the Instant Pot. I added a little bit of water, just enough to get things going, and some butter because, well, butter makes everything better, right? I set the Instant Pot to high pressure for just a few minutes. I read somewhere that you only need a couple of minutes for shrimp, otherwise, they turn rubbery.
- Thawed the shrimp.
- Chopped garlic and onions.
- Gathered spices.
- Dumped everything into the Instant Pot.
- Added water and butter.
- Set the Instant Pot to high pressure.
The Result
Honestly, the hardest part was waiting for the pressure to release. But once it did, I opened it up, and wow, it smelled amazing! I gave it a quick stir, squeezed some lemon juice over the top, and that was it. I served it over some rice I had cooked earlier, and boom – dinner was ready.
And you know what? It was pretty darn good! The shrimp was cooked perfectly, not rubbery at all, and the flavors were all there. It was so much easier than doing it on the stove, and honestly, a lot quicker too. I’m definitely going to be trying more seafood recipes in my Instant Pot. Maybe next time I’ll be brave and try something a bit fancier, like that seafood paella I saw.
So, yeah, that was my little kitchen adventure today. If you’ve got an Instant Pot and you’re a seafood fan, you’ve got to give these recipes a try. It’s easy, it’s quick, and it’s delicious. What’s not to love?
