Hey there, lemme tell ya about this Trader Joe’s thing. It’s called kimbap, I think. Sounds Korean, maybe? They say it’s vegan, so no meat in it. Good for them plant eaters, I reckon.
What’s in This Trader Joe’s Kimbap?
So, what’s in this here Trader Joe’s vegan kimbap? Well, I looked at the box. It’s got this rice stuff, like sushi, but not exactly. They put sesame oil on it, I saw that on the package. Smells kinda nutty. Then there’s stuff inside.

- Tofu: This here’s that fried tofu. They say it’s protein. It’s all squishy and kinda chewy. Good for you, I guess, if you like that sort of thing. I ain’t never been a big tofu fan myself, but my granddaughter, she loves it. Says it’s good for the planet or somethin’.
- Veggies: They got some veggies in there too. Carrots, all chopped up. And spinach, looks like it’s been cooked down some. Then there’s this other stuff, bur-somethin’. Burdock, that’s it! Never heard of it before. Looks like a root, kinda stringy.
- Pickled Radish: Oh, and pickled radish! Now that I like. Gives it a little zing, ya know? Like them pickles I make every summer, but different.
- Rice: It’s all wrapped up in rice, like I said. White rice, I think. They say it’s seasoned with sesame oil. That’s probably why it smells so strong.

I tried a piece. My neighbor, she gave me some. It ain’t bad. Different. That sesame oil is strong. And that burdock stuff, it’s kinda chewy. The pickled radish is good, though. Gives it a little kick. I still like sushi better. The vegan is just not for me.
