Okay, so I wanted to try this whole “Daniel Fast” thing. You know, the one where you eat like the prophet Daniel from the Bible, basically vegan but even stricter? No sugar, no caffeine, no fun, haha! I thought it would be a good way to, like, reset my body and focus on my faith for 21 days. But man, giving up desserts? That was the hardest part.
I started by looking up what I could and couldn’t eat. I grabbed a bunch of fruits, veggies, and whole grains at the store. I had to read all the labels, because you can’t have anything processed or with weird ingredients. It’s a lot, let me tell you.

The first few days were tough. I was craving cookies and chocolate like crazy. I found some recipes online for “Daniel Fast-approved” desserts, but let’s be real, they’re not the same. I tried making these cookies without sugar, they just tasted like…cardboard, I’ll be honest here. Definitely not satisfying my sweet tooth.
- Fruit Salad: This one was a lifesaver. I chopped up a bunch of my favorite fruits, like pineapples, strawberries, and mangoes. Mixing them all up, so good, It’s naturally sweet and refreshing.
- Baked Apples: I cored some apples, sprinkled them with cinnamon, and baked them until they were soft. It was warm and comforting, kind of like apple pie filling, but without all the bad stuff, so it worked for me.
- Frozen Banana “Nice Cream”: I blended frozen bananas until they were creamy, like ice cream. I added a little bit of almond butter for flavor. The texture was surprisingly good, and it helped with the ice cream cravings.
It wasn’t easy, but I made it through the 21 days. I learned to appreciate the natural sweetness of fruits. And I felt pretty good, too, like I had more energy and stuff. Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s definitely a challenge, especially if you love desserts as much as I do. But hey, if I can survive without real desserts for three weeks, I can probably do anything, right?
