So, I’ve been trying to figure out what’s really in Zero Pepsi. You know, the one that’s supposed to be without sugar.
I started by grabbing a can from the store and reading the label carefully. The first thing I noticed was Carbonated Water, which is no surprise. I found they use Aspartame and Acesulfame Potassium instead of sugar. I guess this is to keep it sweet without adding calories.

- Next, I saw Caramel Color. I guess it makes sense to have a color.
- And then there’s Phosphoric Acid. I’m not sure what that does.
- Of course, there’s also Caffeine. I need to stay awake, right?
- Potassium Benzoate. The label says it’s a preservative. I suppose to keep it fresh.
- And lastly, Natural Flavor. That’s pretty vague, honestly.
After that, I went online to see what others say about these ingredients. Some people say Aspartame isn’t good for you. Some people talked about how phosphoric acid can affect your bones. Man, it’s a lot of back and forth.
I decided to try an experiment. I got a can of regular Pepsi and a can of Zero Pepsi. I poured each into a glass and left them out overnight. The regular Pepsi got all syrupy. The Zero Pepsi, not so much.
So I think I found what’s actually in Zero Pepsi. It’s a mix of stuff to make it taste sweet and look like regular Pepsi, but without the actual sugar. What do you guys think? Did I miss anything?
