You know that thing, that Instant Pot? My granddaughter, she got me one. Said it makes cooking easy. First thing I made was some kind of beef. Mongolian beef, they call it. Sounded fancy, but it was just beef and some sauce. Put it all in the pot, and it was done before I could even finish my cup of coffee. And tasty! Even my old man, bless his heart, he liked it. And he don’t like nothing new. It’s easy, those Instant Pot Asian recipes.

- Even old man liked it, and he’s picky.
- It was so easy to make in that pot.
Then there’s this other thing, curry. It’s like a soup, but thicker. They put all sorts of things in it, like chicken and vegetables. Smells strong, but it tastes good. I put some chicken, taters, and them little green peas in my Instant Pot. Poured some of that yellow curry sauce over it. Let it cook, and it was ready faster than you can say “Jack Robinson.” I tell you what, I felt like a real chef cooking up them Asian recipes.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this Asian food, but I learned a few things. They use a lot of that soy sauce. And ginger, that root that looks like a bumpy finger. And garlic, lots of garlic. I like garlic, so that’s okay. I put all them things into my Instant Pot with the food.
There was this one time, I tried to make noodles in it. Now, I usually just boil them on the stove, but I thought, “Why not try the Instant Pot?” Well, it worked, kinda. I didn’t use much water, like you’re supposed to. Just enough to cook them noodles. And when they was almost done, I took it off the heat. That’s what they told me to do, them folks on the TV. They are always cooking them Asian recipes.
- Don’t use too much water for the noodles.
- Take them off the heat before they’re too soft.
- Put some of that sauce on them after.
Then, you put some of that seasoning on it. And, get this, mayonnaise! Yeah, that white stuff you put on sandwiches. Just a little bit, they said. And you stir it all up. It was different, I’ll give you that. But it wasn’t bad. It’s like them Instant Pot Asian recipes are full of surprises.
I even made rice in that thing. Plain old rice. You wouldn’t think you’d need a special pot for that, but it comes out perfect. Every grain all fluffy and separate. Not sticky like when I make it on the stove. I guess that pot really is something. That Instant Pot sure makes it easier to cook, even rice!
